MEDCI with Cognate in Teaching Blind Students
Note to applicants: Graduate degrees in Teaching Blind Students (TBS) are available based on undergraduate degrees.
A Master of Education in Curriculum, Instruction and Leadership with cognate in TBS is an advanced education degree open to applicants who hold a teaching certificate.
The Master of Arts in TBS is open to applicants who are seeking initial teaching certification. For detailed information and advising, contact Ruby Ryles Ph.D., Coordinator of TBS programs.
Admission Requirements:
- Possess a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited university
- Have a 2.5 GPA, or higher, on undergraduate work
- Pass the Pre-Professional Skills (Reading, Writing, and Mathematics) PRAXIS I examination
- Pass the Elementary Education: Content Knowledge (0014) PRAXIS II specialty examination
- Have you been convicted of a felony? If "yes," describe
- Present GRE scores, which equal or exceed 1300 (cumulative UGPA x 200 + GREV + GREQ)
- Submit a completed graduate application with $30 application fee
- Submit three letters of recommendation
- Submit your resume
